Flower & Vegetable Show Regulations

No entry can be accepted after 8pm on the Thursday preceding each show except for certain classes which may be noted in the newsletter prior to the show.


12. Judging will commence at 10.30am and only persons duly authorised by the Show Secretary may remain in the Exhibition areas whilst judging is in progress.

13. Afterjudging has taken place, no exhibit or any part of any exhibit may be altered or removed except by special permission of the Show Secretary until the show closes at 5.15pm. This regulation will be strictly enforced and any exhibitorwho removes any exhibit before the time stated will be liable to forfeit his/her prize(s) and be disqualified from future exhibitions.

14. On the relative merits of the exhibits the judge's decision will be final but the Committee reserves to itself the decision on any other points in dispute. Where appropriate, the R.H.S. handbook will be used for judging except where a specialist society's rules appertain, then the latter will be used.

15. Any objections must be made in writing and delivered to the Show Secretary before 4.00pm on the day of the show for the consideration of the Committee.

16. Any award may be withheld, if, in the opinion of the judges there is no exhibit of sufficient merit.

17. A Novice is defined as a person who has never won a FIRST PRIZE in a previous season for a class of Sweet Peas, Roses, Dahlias, Chrysanthemums or Vegetables as appropriate judged under the rules of the specialist society.

  n.b. Novices & Beginners are not precluded from entering other classes in the relevant section.
