Flower & Vegetable Show Regulations
No entry can be accepted after 8pm on the Thursday preceding each show except for certain classes which may be noted in the newsletter prior to the show.
General Information
A. The R.H.S. Banksian Medal will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the largest total amount of prize mone in the Horticultural Classes (in accordance with the R.H.S. rules), at the Spring, Summer and Autumn Show. This medal may only be awarded to any one competitor once in every three years. The S.H.S. Cup will be awarded to the runner up on points.
B. Cups, Trophies, Medals, Rosettes etc. to be awarded are listed at the beginning of each section in this schedule. S.H.S. Rosettes or Certificates may be awarded at the judge's discretion.
C. Except where otherwise indicated the following Prize Key will apply:

D. In calculating the highest number of points, allow one point for each 5p of prizemoney except in the Plant of the Year classes which will rate as Code B and Class 49 Autumn Show which will rate as Code A with 4th prize of 20p.
E. Prize monies must be collected on the day of the show Prize money not claimed within 7 days of the show will be forfeited and credited to the Society's funds.
F. The presentation of the trophies will take place at 4.45pm and the Shows close at 5.15pm. Exhibits once staged must be left until 5.15pm.
G. Trophies and Challenge Cups shall be held by the winner for twelve months and are deemed covered against loss under the house contents policy of the holder.
All Cups and Trophies are to be returned to the Show Secretary at least 14 days prior to the next season's Show.
Any Trophy holder moving from the district must return same to the Show Secretary.
DEFINITIONS
BOWL
The R.H.S. Handbook defines a bowl as a vessel for displaying cut flowers in water; or bulbous plants and having a mouth - width measurement at least equal to but usually greater than its height.
VASE
The R.H.S. Handbook defines a vase as a vessel for displaying cut flowers in water and having a greater height than the width measurement of its mouth.
KINDS & VARIETIES
The words 'Kind' & 'Variety' are used in the following sense: Roses, Dahlias & Chrysanthemums are distinct kinds of flowers. 'Fragrant Cloud', 'Red Devil' and 'Iceberg' are distinct varieties of Roses.
